Tutor dates you’ll want to remember for December.
Hopefully your December is going well. Below are some dates / time frames you’ll want to keep in mind for your tutor business.
- Make sure you make a note now of when your students will be taking their Christmas / Holiday break. You’ll also want to decide whether or not you want to be tutoring during the break, and you’ll also want to think about if you want to make some extra money. We’ve talked more about making some extra money during breaks before – you can find some of those posts at the links below.
If you are planning on taking a break, you’ll want to make sure your tutor students know. If you’ll be tutoring during the break you’ll want to know when they won’t be able to come.
- Many schools also have semester tests and exams during the early part of December. There also may be research papers and projects that need to be finished. You’ll want to note when these dates are for each student and a plan for making sure they do well on their test / papers. You also may need to do some extra sessions with some of your students. You’ll want to make sure you speak with the parents early and get these additional sessions scheduled.
- You’ll want to think about giving each of your students some type of small Thank You gift. This can help to motivate them and help keep them coming back. You’ll want to make note of what holiday they celebrate and get them a card.
- If you’ve made more money than you thought you would, you may also want to think about spending some money (before the end of December) so that you can save on your tax bill. If you have no idea where you are financially then you’ll want to check with your accountant. I would also suggest you use a program like Quicken.
