News –
Hope your leap day went well. Continuing with the wild weather theme this year we had Tornado warnings for counties all around us for much of the day. I had to keep reminding myself that it wasn’t April but still Feb. Now for some news bits.
- 1.   If you have a Facebook page for business then you know they are changing things around a bit. You can find more information about the changes here – http://www.allfacebook.com/facebook-pages-timeline-7-2012-02 Don’t panic. We’ll keep you up to date on all the changes as we figure them out. At the end of this section is a video detailing a few things. We’ll be attending the webinars she talks about and if you’re interested in staying updated, you can join us on our facebook page.
- 2.   I got a note from someone who thought I was trying to scam them with the ridiculous price we have for our tutor program. We’re offering for $249 something you could pay well over $500 just for a blog… and we’re offering the blog, a facebook page for your business, setting up Google Plus and our guides. We’re going to change things up a bit, so you can get that bonus if you order before March 15th. Details can be found here. Also we’re going to work on creating a compare page which should be up next week.
The Facebook Video
Last newsletter I got a note from a subscriber it said something like, “I want to learn how to grow my business, not build blogsâ€.
I know I’ve talked about it before, but obviously I didn’t do a very good job.
Our goal with our newsletter and our blog is to help you build your business. One of the things I really love doing is help people to build a business, for whatever reason. Whether that is to earn some extra money or to build something you can sell or give to your children.
I also understand that we all don’t have very much time. Especially if you’re building a business and working full time. I remember when I was working full time, taking college classes, and building my business. Those were terrible times as most days I forgot what day it was.
What I want to provide you with are tips you can use to grow your business with the limited amount of time you have. This is one of the reasons I really love the internet, because you can do things once and it works for you (and you don’t have to monitor it every minute of the day).
So the goal is easy and quick.
If you aren’t continuously working to bring new clients into your business, pretty soon you will be out of business.
The easiest way to get new clients is to get new referrals from clients you already see. This is by far the easiest way. You do well for someone, they hear about a friend who is having trouble in a subject and they let their friend know about you.
Number two in the list comes from getting referrals from a teacher or guidance counselor. Johnny’s having trouble in Math. Johnny’s parents are concerned so they approach the teacher for extra help. The teacher recommends you. These relationships take time to build and cultivate. We’ve been working on giving you some guidance to do just that (which we’ll continue next time).
So why have a ‘blog’. Let’s say you have business cards, on the back of them you offer a free tutor lesson (so they won’t throw it away, but put it on their fridge). On the front of the card, one has your name, and a telephone number. Card number 2 has that information plus your website. Along with the simple statement, “visit our site for free math helpâ€.
They visit the site, find out all about you, notice the glowing testimonials you have from previous customers, check out your blog which is full of useful information about Math and school events they weren’t aware of….
Which one would they contact? You should include your website information on all of your advertising, because it allows prospective customers to come and visit you / get to know you before they call you.
It also allows you to get customers that really need your help.
Besides all of this your website is actually an asset for your business. So we will continue to talk about how to build your business using blogs. Hopefully you enjoy it, but more importantly we hope it helps you bring in some new students.
PS.
This was interesting and I thought I would share it with you. Google has changed their privacy policy. In ways it is a bit disturbing. I found this video which can explain some of those changes.
