A happy April to you, I think this week we may even hit a 60 degree temp, which is good news considering it definitely hasn’t felt like spring around here. We also wanted to apologize for the lack of blog posts. We’ve been knee deep in a project for another client, and hey those pay the bills. Today we finish our series on blogs.
So what topic would you like us to talk about next? We do this blog to help you build your business. So if you have something you would like us to talk about or study we’ll do that for the next issue.
Blogging – using your content elsewhere –
One of the really nice things about blogging is you’re putting content out there. You can also use this content elsewhere. Creating content can be hard, so we want to get as much use of it as possible.
- After you create your killer blog post, make sure you put it on Facebook page and hit share. You also want to engage your facebookers, so ask a question in that area to. So we’ll pretend we create a killer post all about how to do rhombus problems (something I’ve been helping my daughter with). You’ve created an easy way for anyone to remember the rules and do the problems. So you post the link to your blog, and then you ask – Do you have any tips for Rhombus problems, please comment below and let us know. That engages your audience. Engagement is a key to using your facebook page to build your business.
- Post it on your Google Plus business account. Again put the link in, just like facebook it will pull the image. Make sure you ask your question, and you’ll want to tag your post as well. Tagging is pretty easy with Google Plus you just put a “#†and then the tag. So for our example we would use #geometrytips. I usually try to add at least one and sometimes to.
- Post it to twitter – make sure you use the same tag. Tagging on twitter works the same way. For twitter you may have to shorten your link. I use bit.ly to do that, but you can use any service to do it.
- Create a video about your post. I think on Friday (if we finish our work) we’ll work on showing you how to do this. When you finish the video you’ll want to put a link to your blog post within the video when you post it to youtube. When you have it up on Youtube you’ll want to make sure and embed the video with the article. Make sure you tag the video, like you did for the other social media sites.
Hopefully that gives you some ideas. This will help you get more traffic both to the article itself but also your tutor business. They see how well you know how to do Rhombus problems, so they want you to tutor their child in Geometry.
