A few Tutor Students – Advertising locally on the web.
As we’ve said before and you’re probably getting tired of us saying it, advertising is wonderful, as long as you make more than you spend. Pretty easy. Today we’re going to talk some about facebook advertising.
We’ll say from last time you can spend $160.00. As long as we get at least one new client before we spend $160 we’ll keep going.
The first thing you’ll want to do is create a unique page on your website for this campaign.
1. Log into wordpress.
2. On the left side nav bar – hover over pages and click ad new.
3. This is going to be a landing page. It’s called that because this is the page they are going to go to after they click on our advertisement. You’ll want to make sure you use at least one unique page for each of the different campaigns you run.
4. Welcome – the ad – the unique coupon code. Those are the things you want to make sure you have in place. So the text on our page could be:
Welcome Facebook Fans.
Save money in September.
(tell them what you tutor) When, what, where, when, how, why.
Call us at 1-555-5555, tell us facebook rocks and you’ll get all of your tutor sessions this fall for $10 off.
Again tracking, finding out where each of your new clients come from is critical.
Save your page, and make a note of the link.
5. Log into your facebook account – your business page. Above your number of likes, there is a gear, click that.
6. For now we want to choose a url. Edit the ad.

Lexington Math Tutors
We tutor in your home. Help your high school Math student get an A.

Create your audience is the most important section. You can target it by your zip code or city. I like doing the City first. When you’re tweaking things you’ll see the Audience numbers change.
You can target the age – a good target to begin with is Mom’s with school age childen So I chose age 30, with no max age. You can drill it down however you like, but that’s a good place to start.
Campaign, Pricing and Schedule is next.
Set a budget. We have $160 to spend, we’ll test with a spread over two weeks.
IMPORTANT – at the bottom make sure manually bid for clicks is highlighted.
It will give you a cost per click, and a suggested bid. I like to go ten cents below the suggested bid.
Click review ad – you’ll want to review it. Then place your order, it will require you to put in your credit card information.
IMPORTANT – review your ad and clicks at least twice of days. If you aren’t getting any impressions or clicks you’ll need to increase your bid slightly. If you are getting a ton of clicks, decrease your bid slightly.
If you run the ad and spend your budget, then you’ll want to try something different. Write a different ad, target a different audience.
