We hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter weekend.

Blogging and Writing a Blog Post that will get you traffic  –

One of the main reasons you have your blog is to get some traffic. We’ll talk some about getting some keywords on Friday. You’ll want to get specific traffic (someone is searching for a specific tutor in your town), or you want to get related traffic (someone is searching for information about your town or your tutor expertise).

Here are some tips when writing your post –

You want each of your posts to be 300 -  400 words in length. You also want to mix it up and have some posts that are huge (750+ words) and some snippets (250 words or less). I usually write my posts in Word, then copy and paste it into the big box.

Make sure you add a title. Don’t cram it with keywords. Your title serves a couple of different purposes. It lets the search engine know what you’re writing about, it also tells prospective readers that are searching what your post is about.

Math tutor in Lexington – works for the search engines, but people who are searching for you probably won’t click on your link.

Math tutor in Lexington offers free tutor sessions – would certainly cause more people to click on your link.

You also want to make sure you add a description. A description is a brief summary of what your post is about. Searchers will see this as well, so you want to give them a reason to click on your link.

Next add your keywords. These keywords should be related to your post. I usually add 4 or 5 two or three word phrases. Again you don’t want to spam by adding the same thing over and over again.

Add an image to your post. If we made a post like we’ve been talking about, I would add a picture of what your tutor center looks like, or what you, or some of your students look like (you would of course want to get the students permission first).  Add a title for the picture; make sure you put in some Alt text as well. Alt text is what people see when they hover over a picture.
