Hope your Tuesday is going well. I can’t believe it’s April already, my how time flies when you’re having fun. For April I think we’re going to be talking about some ways you can create / promote a summer program to help you get more cash during the summer.
Step 1 – Decide what kind of program(s) you’re going to be offering this summer.
A) First you’ll want to think about the time commitment you want to have. You could have something every week. You could also do it every month on the weekends, or you could have a series of day tutoring sessions.
B) You can have group or individual sessions. If you have help you could easily tutor sessions with 10+ people. Now is also the time to think about where you’re going to tutor. If you’re going to be tutoring a group, you want to make sure you have a place to tutor them. Many times libraries, schools, churches may have rooms available. You’ll just need to do some research and find out what the cost is. You will also want to think about what you’re going to be charging. If you’re going to be charging $500 / head for people studying for their law exam then you could also look at renting a conference room from a local hotel.
C) You’ll want to think about what you’ll be tutoring and the students you want to be tutoring (your target audience).
Reminder you can have any combination of the things we talk about above. Next time we’ll talk about what to charge and how to get the word out.
