More ideas on how to promote your tutor business during specific times of the year. You can check out the first part here.
School holidays – you can almost always come up with a discount related to a holiday. One thing you can do is to start thinking about some promotions around Christmas. People could give a tutoring package for a gift. For the kids who have everything why not give them tutoring. It could be a good idea. I haven’t really tried it, but it is worth testing it.
Report cards and midterms – when students will receive them. If you’re working with schools that use different periods (like 6 and 9 week) you’ll want to make sure to include both. One of the best times to get new clients. Craft your advertising around this… an idea.
“Not satisfied with your Mid-Term in Chemistry. We can help you get closer to your goals. Free Assessment – call 555-5555.”
During the assessment you can find out if you can help them or not. If they have a 50 and want to make an A, then that probably isn’t possible. During the free assessment you’ll want to make sure the student bring anything that is related to the class. Spend a half hour or so going over things. Make sure you’re advertising around the school and you continue to get your teacher referrals during this time.
Semester Tests – ACT / SAT times the test will be given in your area. Create a Saturday study program for the week prior to the Semester tests. For the ACT / SAT test it can be several Saturdays in a row.
Hopefully this will give you some ideas. We would love to hear some ideas you have, make sure you include them in the comments below.
